From the office of Mayor George Schloegel

I would like to welcome you to CITY LINE, the latest addition to the city’s already impressive lineup of electronic communications. Each week we will publish CITY LINE as another way to keep the citizens of Gulfport informed of the happenings at City Hall and other departments and agencies throughout the city.

In addition, from time to time we will publish special editions of CITY LINE.

In each issue, I plan to personally brief you on important issues affecting our city and its people. My letters to you will be followed by announcements, planned events and other information from throughout the city, farther down the email.

I believe great things are ahead for Gulfport. What we have already accomplished, as a people, breeds optimism and hope for what can accomplish tomorrow.

There is a lot of hard work ahead of us, and it will take all of us — every citizen, every employee and every elected leader — working together to move our city forward.

This weekend, let us celebrate the birth of America and the rebirth of Gulfport. Have fun and be safe. Also, try to get some rest, because the hard work begins bright and early Monday morning.

Sincerely,

Mayor George Schloegel.
