men and women of the Gulfport Fire Department take pride in our
department and city of Gulfport. We work hard to serve, protect, and
help maintain a high quality of life for everyone who lives, works and
visits our city. We hope that your visit to this site will help you
learn who we are and what we do. The members of the Gulfport Fire
Department will always seek to perform to the highest standards,
continuing to educate ourselves and the public, and lead the way in

The
Gulfport Fire Department, established in 1902, employs 174 personnel
that provide around the clock fire protection and rescue services for
our citizens and visitors of Gulfport. Operating out of twelve
fire stations, throughout the city, these fire fighters respond to a
wide array of emergency calls. These calls include:
structure fires, aircraft emergency, hazardous materials accidents,
emergency medical calls, and marine emergencies. |

MISSION STATEMENT
Recognizing
the sanctity of life and safety, the Gulfport Fire Department is
dedicated to the protection of all the citizens and visitors of our
community. To achieve this task, we shall be proactive as well
as progressive, recognizing education as a corner stone of our
defense. Further, we shall never settle for adequate, but shall
strive for perfection. The Fire Fighters of Gulfport,
Mississippi, approach their job with a professionalism and dedication
which is borne of an understanding that in times of crises they must
be prepared.
