DEPARTMENT OF LEISURE SERVICES FEE WAIVER POLICY     

No Charge Category:

  1. Any non-profit organization/agency (501 C3), municipal agency, county agency, state agency, federal agency, or school district (Harrison/City of Gulfport), civic clubs or public agency will be allowed use of the facility for business meetings during posted operational hours at no charge for meetings lasting under 3 hours. (A business meeting is defined as a called meeting to discuss the business of the organization). Any social event held by an organization is classified as a charge category below.
  2. Any organization providing a community service where the function is open to the public and there are no fee/charges for admittance and the function is beneficial to the public will be allowed to host the event at the facility at no charge (i.e. Memorial Hospital to provide health screenings). This activity cannot be any longer than 3 days in duration.

Charge Category: 

  1. Any organization hosting an event for dinners, luncheons, food fairs, dances socials, weddings, family reunions, seminars, instructional classes, shows, conventions, religious functions, etc with the exception of city sponsored events/activities/programs will be charged. See below for city sponsored/coordinated activities or programs.
  2. Any request to have meetings after normal posted operational hours, or to provide extended educational/training classes whether during or after operational hours shall be charged the approved hourly rate for the facility requested.

 

APPROVED CITY SPONSORED EVENTS

1.       Requesting agency must provide a program submittal for programs operated by non-city personnel using city facilities at no cost.

2.       Narrative to include outline of organization, the organization’s status (profit/non-profit), resume(s) of staff working with the program, proof of insurance if applicable ($1.0 million dollars naming city as additional insured) and background check verification on all volunteers working with children. No fee may be charged to participants for these programs.

3.      

4.       Should league or organization fail to work with city regarding operations, hours of operations, or programming requirements, the city reserves the right to enforce rental requirements for use of city facilities.

5.       These requirements would be waived if person/agency submitting request pays established rental fees for the use of the facility.
