Incident Reports | Accident Reports | Public Records Request
The Gulfport Police Department Records Division is always concerned for your privacy and personal information. Victim Information, Suspect Information, Social Security Numbers and Dates of Birth (Excludes State Crash Reports) are not released to the general public. Juvenile information will be released only to a verified parent or guardian.

Incident Reports:

An Incident Report is a narrative description, if such narrative description does not contain investigative information, of an alleged offense.
  • At a minimum, the Incident Report will include: Name and Identification of each person charged and arrested for the alleged offense, the time and date of the incident, the location of the alleged offense, the property involved, to the extent that this information is known. SE. 25-61-3.
  • These reports can be obtained in the Records Division.  Minimum fee of $3.00 and must have a picture I.D. to purchase.

Accident Reports:

Accident Reports (both roadway and parking lot accident reports) can be purchased during regular business hours in the Records Division.

Public Records Requests:

In 2008 Mississippi passed into law an amendment to the Mississippi Public Record Act of 1983. This amendment is generally referred to as “The Sunshine Laws”.  SEC. 25-61-3.
In addition to Accident Reports and Incident Reports, you can request information or answers to your questions through a Public Record Request Form (PRR).  For example, someone can request the number of burglaries in a certain area or the number of times police have been called to a specific address.

  • The requesting party must complete the PRR, with a detailed explanation of what information is being requested, and submit it to the Records Division with a non-refundable deposit of $8.00.
  • The requesting party will be notified within seven (7) working days whether their request was approved or denied. If approved, the report will be ready for pick up in Records Division.
  • If denied, a letter will be sent to the requesting party explaining why the request could not be completed.
