Parade and Noise Permits:

Parade Permits

Parade Permits are necessary for any activity on roadways.
Parade Permit Applications MUST BE SUBMITTED to the Records Division no later than fifteen (15) business days prior to the event. No permit will be accepted after the cutoff day. § 63-3-211(a) (3). Parade Permits must be turned in with a clear map of the route attached or they will not be accepted.


Noise Ordinance Variance Permit Application

Noise Permits are required when you expect to make any noise outside of normal situations.
(Accepted permits have restrictions specific to the event and can be revoked if these restrictions are violated.  Permit Applications MUST BE SUBMITTED to the Records Division no later than five (5) business days prior to the event.  No permit will be accepted after the cutoff day. Example: A permit needed for Friday must be turned in the Friday before the event as Monday will be too late. §7-10(h)(1-7)

 

Cab, peddler, special metals and shotgun permits:
The application process is the same for all four permits

Cab Permits

Cab Permits are required for any taxi operating in the Gulfport City Limits, reference Municipal Code Sec. 5-32.
Applicants must complete the form and submit it with a fee of $25.00 to the Records Division. This fee is for the background search and fingerprints. On page 2 of the Application you will need to list any city where you have previously lived so that we can contact those municipalities. Once the process is completed, you will be called for an interview with the Commander of Support. General Finance must also be contacted to finish the permit process.

Peddler Permits

Peddler Permits are required to sell products or services door to door, such as alarm systems or vacuum cleaners. Municipal Code 5-119.
General Finance must also be contacted to finish the permit process.

Special Metal Permits

Special Metal Permits are issued if you buy and sell scrap metal on a regular basis.
There is an initial fee of $25.00 to start the permit process and a $25.00 fee when the permit is completed, for a total $50.00. You do not have to contact the General Finance for this permit.

Shotgun Permits

The Shotgun Permit Application must be completed in full (2 pages) and submitted to the Records Division.
The applicant must be able to provide proof of ownership, valid identification of the property and be a resident of Harrison County over the age of 21. Please check Municipal Code 7-17 for all necessary requirements. Once the process is completed, the applicant will be called in for an interview. General Finance does not have to be contacted for this permit.
